Pipa player Jiang Motong, pianist Yu Boyang and percussionist Chen Shijie will collaborate to bring a show that features both Chinese pieces such as “Ten Faces,” “The Murmur of Pipa” by Lin Hai, pop songs like “Fly Me to the Moon,” as well as rearranged classical pieces such as Saint-Saëns’ elegant “The Swan” and two movements from Piazzolla’s “History of Tango.”

Originally named Jiang Yan, Jiang Motong is a member of the modern Chinese music ensemble Zizai Quartet and a guest performer with the Aerospace National Music Chamber Orchestra. A pupil of late pipa master Li Guanghua at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, Jiang won a gold medal at the 2014 WCOPA in Los Angeles. She has collaborated with many prestigious orchestras such as China Philharmonic Orchestra and China National Symphony Orchestra, and frequented international music festivals as a featured soloist.
