Shenzhen Concert Hall Chanson de Montagne Multiethnic Children’s Choir
Shenzhen Concert Hall Chanson de Montagne Multiethnic Children’s Choir is the only children choir in Shenzhen that specializes in multi-ethnic culture. The choir strives for excellence in the art of choral music and lineage of cultural heritage.
Composed of Performance Group, Reserve Group and Enlightenment Group, the choir has more than 200 students who are selected from the children and teenagers aged 6-13 who love singing all over Shenzhen. Every weekend, the students attend the choral training.
The choir is generously supported by the Chanson de Montagne ethnic minority projects and Shenzhen Concert Hall. Under the guidance of Artistic Director Manxue Hu and team of music professionals from home and abroad, the members of the choir embrace a systematic and comprehensive music education.
The choir has grown extensively and gained great recognition since its establishment. In April 2019, the choir was invited to Carnegie Hall for the 36th MidAm International. In September 2019, the choir participated in the celebration of the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China, contributing to the premiere of the movie “My Motherland and I”. In November 2019, the choir performed a concert of “Multiethnic Children’s Choirs in Concert” at Symphony Hall, Shenzhen Concert Hall. In September 2020, the “Ethnic Children's Chorus Concert” was held by the choir at Futian Cultural Center. In October 2020, the choir was invited to perform in “Linna Gong 24 Solar Terms Concert” at Symphony Hall, Shenzhen Concert Hall.
After long-term and strict professional training, the choir has achieved remarkable results and gained unanimous praise. More and more children who love singing are expected to join the choir; to plant the seeds of music for Shenzhen to build “The City of Music”, making children’s chorus another brand new card of Shenzhen.
 

Shenzhen Senior High School Lily Girls Choir
Regarded as a choir of national excellence in China, the Shenzhen Senior High School Lily Girls Choir has actively appeared on domestic and international stages in the recent years. The choir has received numerous international awards, including the championship of the teenager group at the World Choir Games 2019, grand champion at the 5th International Johannes-Brahms Choir Festival & Competition in Germany, and 1st place of the group of children’s choir at the 36th Tolosa International Choral Festival in Spain.
Founded in 1997, Lily Girls Choir is hailed as a cultural calling card of Shenzhen. As its name "Lily" suggests, this choir is an excellent troupe characterized by harmony, friendship, cooperation and sincerity. Under the leadership of Xizhen Wang, an expert in children’s chorus, Lily Girls Choir has developed into an outstanding students’ choir who plays a leading and exemplary role in China. In 2010, Manxue Hu took over as the conductor. In 2015, the choir transformed from a children’s choir to a girls’ of 105 choir members.
The choir has been praised as “clear, bright, penetrating, warm, colorful”, and “touches the hearts of the audience”. They dedicate themselves to exploring and promoting the culture of Chinese multiethnic music and build up their repertoire based on the traditional music classics as well as the new prominent works. They perform both traditional and internationally well-known pieces, as well as premieres of specially commissioned works from internationally recognized composers.
Shenzhen Senior High School Lily Girls Choir performs more than 20 concerts each year and has been invited to appear on stages of famous domestic and foreign choral festivals, as well as other major occasions. So far, they have toured in more than 20 countries and regions and successfully collaborated with many well-known conductors and orchestras.
 

Chanson de Montagne (Lisu) Ethnic Children’s Choir
Chanson de Montagne (Lisu) Ethnic Children’s Choir is located at Liming Primary School, Yulong County, Lijiang, Yunan. In 2009, Green Pine Foundation and Suzhou Meitian Lihua Company established the choir together and jointly invited folk music inheritors to teach in the school. Since the establishment, the choir has performed in Shenzhen, Beijing, Shanghai, Kunming, Suzhou and other places on invitations and received critical acclaim. Currently, the choir has more than 40 members, mainly students in grades 3-5, and becomes one of the major features of the school.
 

Chanson de Montagne (Mongolian) Ethnic Children’s Choir
Chanson de Montagne (Mongolian) Ethnic Children’s Choir was established at Second Primary School of Mongolian Ethnic Group in Xilinhot, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The children’s choir consists of 40 Mongolian children. The establishment of the choir is based on the Chanson de Montagne (Mongolian) Ethnic Teachers’ Choir, which was formed under the education system of Xilinhot in 2015. The teachers’ choir has won numerous gold awards home and abroad and currently becomes a calling card of the league. Three members of the teachers’ choir (Suya Latu, E-ridun Tana and Gong Tana) are serving as the music and conducting teachers of the children’s choir.
 

Egret and Rainbow (Yi) Ethnic Children's Choir
Egret and Rainbow (Yi) Ethnic Children's Choir comes from the Te’erguo Central School in Puge County, Daliang Mountain, Sichuan. The choir was jointly established by China General Nuclear Power Group and Green Pine Foundation. Well-known musician Moxi Zishi is invited as the Music Artistic Consultant. In June 2020, a professional faculty team, including Moxi Zishi and Professor Fan He from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, had made the first visit to the school where they conducted the selection for the choir’s members and offered relevant guidance. Afterwards, the Egret and Rainbow (Yi) Ethnic Children's Choir, composed of 59 children, was formally established. Since then, the choir has embarked on a study journey of folk music chorus.
 

Conductor: Manxue Hu
Teaching for 30 years, Manxue Hu has dedicated herself to the promotion of teenagers’ music and was awarded the honorary titles of “Top Ten Young Teachers” and “Shenzhen March 8th Red Flag Bearer” by Shenzhen Government.
Manxue had engaged in piano teaching at Jiangxi Normal University from 1990 to 1997 and had successfully held personal piano recitals. In 1997, she was transferred to Shenzhen Senior High School and became one of the founders of Shenzhen Senior High School Lily Girls Choir, taking charge of piano accompaniment and chorus choreography. In 2005, she studied choral conducting at the Central Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of such well-known conductors as Professor Hongnian Yang and young conductor Lin Chen. She took over as the conductor of Shenzhen Senior High School Lily Girls Choir in 2010 and led the choir to visit North Korea and Serbia together with government delegations. In 2011, she led Lily Girls Choir to successfully tour at National Center for the Performing Arts, Shanghai He Lvting Concert Hall, and Shenzhen Concert Hall; respectively in 2011 and 2016, she led the choir to hold special concerts at Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. She has also been invited to hold numerous concerts and workshops at influential choral festivals home and abroad.
Manxue had served on the international jury of International Choral Assemblies EURASIA CANTAT in Russia. In 2009, she led Lily Girls Choir to join World Choir Games 2019, winning the championship of teenage group and second place of a cappella folksong group; in 2014, she led the choir to participate in the 8th World Choral Competition in Latvia and gained the golden prizes of modern group and girls’ group.
 

Yonggang Wang
Lisu minority, Yonggang Wang was born in a village named “Lusheng” which is situated in the Liming Township, Yulong County, Lijiang, Yunan. People of all ages in the village can play the folk music instrument “Hulusheng”, hence the name. Under the influence of his grandfather Shuncai Ding (the first generation of Lusheng King), Yonggang Wang learned how to play and make Lisu musical instruments such as Hulusheng, four-string fiddle, two-string fiddle, and so forth. He was employed by Green Pine Foundation as the music teacher of Chanson de Montagne (Lisu) Ethnic Children’s Choir in 2009, during which he led the choir to participate in various cultural exchange activities and performances across the country.
 

Wuniri Jirigala
Mongolian minority, Professional khoomei singer and morinhuur player, Wuniri Jirigala attended the morinhuur training courses of Qi Baolige in 2004-2006; in 2006-2009, he studied khoomei under the tutelage of a Mongolian teacher in Hohhot and won multiple competitions during this period; in 2003, he appeared with Anar Group at 2013 Canal Kylin International Music Festival in Beijing; in 2014, he formed a group named “Hometown” to join Manzhouli International Khoomei Competition in which he won Excellence Prize of China Khoomei Competition and Third Prize of International Khoomei Compeition; in 2016, he was invited by Mongolia to perform in honour of Kublai Khan’s birth and performed at Lianyungang Grand Show; in 2017, he participated in Duolun International Music Festival and Heshigten International Music Festival; in 2018, he won second place of “Minsheng Cup” Mongolian Three Manly Skills Competition.
 

A-ri Sileng
Mongolian minority, A-ri Sileng won the week’s championship (for band) in Shaanxi TV’s program “Songs from the Yellow River” in 2011; in 2012, he was the Third Prize holder of Individual Competition in the Inner Mongolia Eight Provinces Khoomei Competition; in 2012, he won Third Prize of West Ujimqin Banner Khoomei Competition; in June 2014, he joined the first International Khoomei Competition and received the prizes of “Excellent Individual” and “Third Prize of Band”; in 2015, he showed up as guest khoomei singer invited by Mongolia to perform in celebrating the 800th Anniversary of Kublai Khan; in 2017, he appeared at Guyuan Music Festival.
 
 

 
E-ridun Tonglaga
Singer of Mongolian minority, born in East Ujimqin Banner of Xilingol League, E-ridun Tonglaga studied voice major in Hohhot in 2008 and then took further education in Mongolia. She had attended the Spring Festival Gala Show of NMTV in 2010, the Spring Festival Gala Performance of Alxa League in 2011 and the Spring Festival Gala of CCTV in 2014.
 

Moxi Zishi
Moxi Zishi, singer and music producer of Yi ethnic minority, has claimed a variety of prizes such as Chinese Music Media Awards, Abilu Music Awards, and Chinese Music Awards. His masterpieces such as “Don’t Be Afraid & A Jie Lu” were widely spread. Over the years, he has devoted himself to music affairs and actively participated in various public welfare projects. He has sincerely paid attention to and given back to Daliang Mountain where the Yi people have lived for generations and generations. Since 2020, he has been invited as the Music Artistic Consultant for Egret and Rainbow (Yi) Ethnic Children’s Choir and the specialist of Green Pine Foundation. The professional and the media speak highly of him: "Moxi Zishi’s music derived from Yi, with nostalgia for the land. His voice is bright and broad and can lead people to the places that are deep inside the mountains shrouded in fog.”
 

A-tie Shuori
Yi minority, A-tie Shuori has studied folk music instruments of Yi ethnic group such as Yueqin, Kexiju’er, Kouxian, Mabu, Muye, as well as traditional folksongs and Kezhi (a type of poetry of Yi’s oral literature) since childhood. After years of practical learning, he has mastered diversified performing techniques of Yueqin playing such as string flipping, picking, strumming, bending, plucking, shifting, and fingers rotating. He has developed his own unique style in performance and joined modern bands. He is a famous Yueqin player. He can also sing more than 300 traditional folksongs of Meigu County and multiple modern popular songs. The high-pitched tune of Yi is one of his personal characteristics.
