Violin: Siqing Lu
Well recognized as one of the most outstanding Chinese violinists today, Siqing Lu (pronounced See-Ching Lyu) performs regularly with major international and Chinese orchestras. He has performed to acclaim in some of the world’s most prestigious concert halls in more than forty countries and regions worldwide, including the Musikverein in Vienna, Avery Fisher Hall and Alice Tully Hall in New York City, Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, Southam Hall at National Arts Centre in Ottawa, Maison Symphonique and Place des Arts in Montreal, Barbican Centre, Royal Opera House and Wigmore Hall in London, Theatre Des Champs Elysees and Louis XIV Opera House at Palace of Versailles in Paris, the Great Hall in Moscow, Suntory Hall in Tokyo, Hamer Hall at the Arts Centre in Melbourne, Sydney Opera House, the Esplanade in Singapore, Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi and the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing. Siqing Lu has collaborated with many of the world’s esteemed conductors and musicians, including Lorin Maazel, Valery Gergiev, Leonard Slatkin, Edo de Waart, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Lawrence Foster, Jaap van Zweden, Osmo Vänskä, Michel Plasson, Bocelli, as well as leading Chinese musicians such as Long Yu, Lang Lang, Jia Lyu, Muhai Tang, Lihua Tan, Shaojia Lyu, Wenbin Jian, Cho-Liang Lin, Yujia Wang, Jian Wang, Xian Zhang, Yi Zhang, Xincao Li, Yang Yang, the Shanghai Quartet and Oscar award-winning composer/conductor Dun Tan, with whom Siqing gave the world premiere of his violin concerto “Hero” in Poland in 2011.
Siqing Lu has performed with some of today’s leading orchestras such as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz, Halle Orchestra, Bilbao Symphony Orchestra, Berne Symphony Orchestra, Salzburg Chamber Orchestra, Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra, Aspen Festival Orchestra, Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, Washington Symphony Orchestra, New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra of the Mariinsky Theatre, Russia National Orchestra, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Yomiuri Nippon Symphony, Hong Kong Philharmonic, the China NCPA Orchestra, China Philharmonic Orchestra, China National Symphony Orchestra, among others.
Siqing appears regularly at many of the top music festivals and prestigious music events around the world. He is the Artistic Director of the National Centre for the Performing Arts May Festival in Beijing and is on the jury of several prestigious international competitions such as the Menuhin Competition and the Shanghai Isaac Stern International Violin Competition. He also founded the Siqing Lu Shenzhen Futian International String Festival in 2016. Since 2021, Siqing has served as the Principal of The Yehudi Menuhin School Qingdao at the invitation.
Siqing Lu plays the “Miss Crespi” 1699 Stradivari violin, generously loaned to him by Chinese-Australian arts philanthropist Mr. David Li.

Major Ensemble
"New Youth in Music, New Voice of the Times"! Initiated by "Major Music" and supported by the famous violinist Siqing Lu, Major Ensemble consists of a group of the most dynamic young musicians representing the highest professional level. Based on the tradition of classical music, the ensemble attempts to explore the crossover innovation, present a new image of contemporary young musicians, and make a new voice of contemporary China.
Based on the "Major Young Artist Program", Major Ensemble is one of the main activities of the brand "New Youth in Music", which is delivered to the public by Major Music, the leading classical music company in China. It is the first ensemble initiated and founded by a classical music agency in China. The members of the group are made up of top professionals in the industry, winners of top competitions at home and abroad, and the best from top music schools around the world, each of whom has a remarkable history and impressive achievements, as well as a dedication to the pursuit of music and ambitious ideals.
Deeply rooted in the tradition of classical chamber music, the "Major Ensemble" is following the professional rules of traditional chamber orchestras and setting the top professional chamber orchestras in the world as the target. It endeavors to seek breakthroughs and innovations in the contemporary expression of classical music, constantly exploring new musical styles, new compositions, new stage presentations, new individual and group images, and new ways of communicating with audiences.
In terms of repertoire and performance style, the ensemble balances tradition and innovation, covering classical music classics from all periods, as well as promoting the creation and interpretation of new works in the new era, and will try out works in various styles such as pop and jazz and crossover collaborations.
We respect the tradition, interpret the classics, and display the top professionalism and business ability of the contemporary young artists.
