Wang Yalun
Serena Wang (Wang Yalun) has been described by the San Francisco Chronicle as “undeniably promising” and already possesses extensive concretizing experience at her tender age. Since then, she has appeared with several orchestras, including China Philharmonic, National Center for Performing Arts (NCPA) Orchestra (Beijing), Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Orquesta Juvenil Universitaria Eduardo Mata, Israel Philharmonic, Hong Kong Philharmonic, Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra. She has worked with eminent conductors including Zubin Mehta, Gustavo Riveroeber, Yu Long, Zhang Guoyong, Lü Jia, Yang Yang and Zhu Qiyuan. She was the Gold Prize winner at the China 2nd National Youth Piano Competition in Xiamen (2010) and the 15th Asia Chopin Piano Competition in Japan (2014). So far, she has performed in Russia, Finland, Italy, Switzerland, Israel, United States, Singapore, Japan, mainland China, Taiwan (China) and Hong Kong (China). She made her debut recording on Channel Classics at the age of 9, featuring solo works by Mozart, Chopin, Liszt, Poulenc, Shostakovich, Tan Dun and Dan Zhaoyi. The recording received wide attention and critical acclaim.
During 2016-17 season, she was the invited soloist on China Philharmonic’s North American Tour, playing Beethoven’s Concerto No. 1 in Vancouver, San Francisco and Los Angeles. She also performed the same concerto with Shanghai Symphony Orchestra in Shanghai and Taipei. At the 54th International Piano Festival of Bergamo and Brescia in Italy, she appeared with Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, playing Mendelssohn’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in g minor. In May 2017, she was invited to perform in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Haifa with Maestro Zubin Mehta and Israel Philharmonic, followed by an invitation to play with Yu Long and Hong Kong Philharmonic in Hong Kong and Shenzhen. She also performed Grieg’s Piano Concerto in a minor with Zhang Guoyong and Qingdao Symphony.
In 2017-2018 season, she was invited by Maestro Zubin Mehta to perform with Israel Philharmonic in Nanjing. Later, Serena also made her debut with New York Philharmonic and London Philharmonic Orchestra, playing Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy in c minor. In May 2019, at the invitation of Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, Serena Wang was to play with Martha Argerich the Carnival by Saint-Saëns under the baton of Charles Dutoit conducting Shanghai Symphony Orchestra. On October 1st, Serena was invited to perform at Tian’an Men Square for the 70th PRC National Independence Celebration.
In January of 2020, Serena toured with China Philharmonic Orchestra in Eastern Europe including cities of Budapest, Sofia, Belgrade, and Bucharest. On November 28th 2020, Serena played Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.23 in A Major, K. 488 with Shanghai Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Zhang Lu. On December 20th, Serena was invited to perform in the opening concert of Yellow Lounge with the leading artists in Shanghai Heishi M+ Community.
On January 29th 2021, Serena played Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3 in c minor under the baton of Yu Long conducting Shanghai Symphony Orchestra. In the same year, Serena was invited to perform in the opening concert of MISA Festival with Luo Wei, under the baton of Yu Long conducting Shanghai Symphony Orchestra. On July 16th, Serena was invited to perform in Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra 2020/2021 Season Closing Concert, playing Mahler’s Symphony No.4 under the baton of Yu Long conducting Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra.

Conductor: Jin Yukuang
Jin Yukuang is the runner-up of two international conducting competitions, the initiator of Novus-Classica Camerata, the winner of “Young Musician Award” of 2021 Beijing International Music Festival, the convener of "Project Spring Bird", and the scholarship winner of Baosteel and Pengrui Education Foundation.
Jin Yukuang was admitted to the Middle School Affiliated to Shanghai Conservatory of Music in 2015, under the guidance of Professor Zhao Xiao’ou, Zhang Guoyong, Lin Daye and Yu Long. He has conducted several major domestic and overseas symphony orchestras, such as the Armenian National Symphony Orchestra, Zurich Conservatory Symphony Orchestra, Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, Guiyang Symphony Orchestra, Kunming Nie Er Symphony Orchestra, Qingdao Symphony Orchestra, Hebei Symphony Orchestra, Sichuan Philharmonic Orchestra and so on. At the end of 2020, 20-year-old Jin Yukuang initiated the Novus-Classica Camerata, aiming to actively participate in the gradual recovery of the music industry in the post-epidemic era from the perspective of young talents. The average age of the ensemble is only 21, and not only the conductor, but almost all the musicians are post-00s. The ensemble is made up of outstanding young musicians, many of whom have performed on the highest stages domestically and abroad.
In 2021, Jin Yukuang with his Novus-Classica Camerata, performed in Shanghai Summer Music Festival and Beijing International Music Festival (BMF), and won the “Young Musician Award” awarded by the 24th BMF committee. At the end of 2021, Jin and his Camerata won the “New Artist of the Year" title of the Ganlan Art Awards.
In June 2021, at the age of 20, Jin Yukuang, as the youngest participant, won two international conducting awards in one month: The Armenian Khachaturian International Conducting Competition and the Only Stage International Conducting Competition. Jin Yukuang is the first Chinese to win these awards. Jin has been interviewed by CCTV, China Daily, Beijing Daily, China Culture Daily, China Art Daily, Beijing Youth Daily, Liberation Daily, Morning News, Wenhui Daily and many other media. The famous classical music magazine Philharmonic ran a lengthy interview on him. His story was featured in the headline of Music Weekly newspapers and an in-depth radio interview with Beijing Radio & Television Station (BRTV). Whether Jin Yukuang is working with young musicians of his age, such as Chen Yibai, Lin Ruifeng, Wang Yalun, Ju Xiaofu, etc., or with senior musicians such as Li Weigang, Ning Feng, Huang Zheng, he is always able to revel his unique charm and vitality of the new generation to everybody around him.
Since September 2021, Jin Yukuang has become the only undergraduate student of the internationally renowned conductor Yu Long.

The Novus-Classica Camerata
The Novus-Classica Camerata (NCC) was founded in 2020 when a group of young musicians in Shanghai decided to get together to participate in the gradual recovery of the music industry in the post-pandemic era.
NCC is devoted to pursuing the sound that characterized by the chamber music style of ensemble playing and independent musical personalities. Their average age is only 20, and all members are made up of post-00s. They performed at the Yellow Lounge co-hosted by DG records and Universal Music, after that they were invited to perform at the Shanghai Summer Music Festival and the Beijing International Music Festival. The Novus-Classica Camerata won the “Young Musician Award” at the 24th Beijing International Music Festival.
As soloists or primers, members of the Novus-Classica Camerata are often invited to work with top conductors and orchestras home and abroad, such as Seiji Ozawa, Neeme Järvi, Daniel Harding, Yu Long, Zhang Guoyong, Tang Muhai, Chen Xieyang, Lin Daye, Zhang Jiemin, China Philharmonic Orchestra, Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, Guiyang Symphony Orchestra, Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra, Qingdao Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra, Shanghai Opera House Symphony Orchestra, Asian Youth Orchestra and so on.
NCC is very dynamic and currently one of the most active chamber ensembles in China. With a group of China’s outstanding young musicians, NCC will always stay positive and promote classical music across the world.
