Program:
Giacomo Puccini: La bohème (Opera in Concert)
(
Four-act opera lasts approximately 140 minutes, including an intermission. Program is subject to change)

The opera "La Bohème," is a classic four-act opera by the Italian maestro Giacomo Puccini. This opera is an adaptation of the novel "Scènes de la vie de bohème" by French writer Henri Murger. Puccini's masterpiece is an everlasting ode to youthful love and the free-spirited life. It narrates the bittersweet lives and loves of four impoverished young artists in the Latin Quarter of Paris, capturing the essence of pure love and freedom beyond material constraints. This noble spirit, transcending the confines of time, remains as relevant today as it was over a century ago. The great inventor Thomas Edison once wrote to Puccini, stating, "Men will pass, governments will fall, but the spirit of 'La Bohème' will live forever."
