Inner Mongolia Junior Choir
Inner Mongolia Junior Choir was founded in September of 2008. It is the first junior choir in Inner Mongolia. Led by the renowned conductor Yalun Gerile and composer-in-residence Se Enkhbayar, this group is consisted of 80 students aged 12 to 17, hailing from the rural grasslands of Inner Mongolia.
With an international education team and folk artists who inherit traditional Mongolia culture, these students not only can sing traditional Chinese and western pieces, but also excellently play instruments like the piano, violin, morin khuur (horsehead fiddle), Mongolian Zither and other traditional Mongolian instruments.
Inner Mongolia Junior Choir has staged on both China and other districts and countries, like Mongolia, the National Centre for Performing Arts and Macau’s International Music Festival. Different kinds of concerts performed by them had received enthusiastic response and were highly praised.
Conductor: Aaron Gerile
Aaron Gerile is a member of Chinese Musicians Association, the permanent conductor of the Inner Mongolian Youth Chorus, artistic director of Inner Mongolian Junior Chorus. She was born in Inner Mongolia, and admitted to Shanghai Conservatory Of Music, being coached by professor Ma Geshun. Later, she continued studying in China Conservatory Of Music in 1995 for a master’s degree. As one of the most influential conductor in the world of international chorus, her enthusiasm is bold and unrestrained, natural and exquisite, highly praised by many experts and colleagues. The famous conductor Yan Fangkun called her a "vocal sculptor" : the world chorus alliance praised her as "expressive conductor".
