The Hollywood Film Orchestra
The Hollywood Film Orchestra has become one of the premier ensembles in the world. With its unique presentation of the latest TV, movie, and Broadway themes written and arranged especially for the orchestra, the Hollywood Film Orchestra is known as “the Orchestra of the Stars” featuring the best and brightest guest artists and soloists in lively and entertaining performances. And the orchestra specializes in the music that “made” the movies!
The Hollywood Film Orchestra was founded in 1990 by John R. Giattino and Judith M. Giattino. Both John and Judith have been producing concerts since that time, and have produced tours for the Hollywood Film Orchestra across the United States as well as the People’s Republic of China, Japan, Taiwan and Korea. Throughout his many years as a producer, John Giattino has been associated with such great artists as Mantovani, Percy Faith, Henry Mancini, Arthur Fiedler and many other “greats” in the pop orchestra genre.
Other touring productions offered for the 2003 and 2004 season are, The First 50 Years of Broadway, featuring a 36-piece orchestra and four singers, and the music that made the movies, featuring the Hollywood Film Orchestra paying tribute to Hollywood’s greatest musical legends such as Max Steiner, Henry Mancini, Percy Faith, John Williams, John Barry and Randy Newman. “The Music That Made the Movies” features some of the most memorable movie themes of all time. The orchestra’s programs titled “Celebrating the Silver Screen-Then & Now” were heard in Portugal and Spain during the spring of 2004. Based on the success of numerous American tours, the Orchestra has represented the Hollywood theme in the Far East, as well. Their performances were extremely well received in Japan, Taiwan, and Mainland China.
The Hollywood Film Orchestra is best known for its special musical arrangements of both current and classic movie themes. In various programs the orchestra performed music dating back to early 30s, as well as the most current hits from such movies as the “Lion King” and “Mission Impossible”. As a touring orchestra, The Hollywood Film Orchestra sets up goals to explore various artistic horizons not only in the United States, but abroad, as well. During the last decade the orchestra has performed at numerous festivals and concert halls across the United States. The orchestra’s management spends a great deal of time booking the orchestra to perform in other countries, as well. Its 17-concert debut tour of Taiwan in 2000 was a sell-out experience for local organizers, which was followed by the orchestra’s re-engagements to Taiwan several times after.
