Performed by: Shenzhen Concert Hall Golden Treelet Multi-Ethnic Children's Choir/Shenzhen Chanson de Montagne Children's Choir/Shenzhen Chanson de Montagne Children's Choir (Longgang Branch)
In 2024, a suite of four songs titled “The Song Cycle of Nature”, composed by Shichao Zhang and lyrics by Fang Wang, made its world premiere by the Shenzhen Concert Hall Golden Treelet Multi-Ethnic Children's Choir. The work received widespread acclaim from both critics and audiences. The four songs vividly depict Shenzhen’s natural beauty, and celebrate the intimate and harmonious coexistence between Shenzhen’s people and nature.
In this lecture, we will bring together the creators of this work — Shichao Zhang, Fang Wang, and the premiere conductor Manshu Hu, for a discussion on the creative process, performance insights, and behind-the-scenes stories. The choir members will also perform excerpts from the work, bringing its enchanting melodies and imagery to life on stage.
